HVAC RESTORATION AND CORROSION REMEDIATION
HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) restoration projects involve inspection and repair of the system components and duct work in your building. The goal is to improve the efficiency of your HVAC system, reduce your building’s overall energy use and improve indoor air quality.
Regular inspection and maintenance of HVAC system components will help limit the need for restoration or remediation projects. Still, as the components age, they’ll eventually need to be replaced or repaired.
Some of the everyday work that we do on HVAC restoration projects includes:
Repair/replacement of insulation – over time, the constant heating and cooling and external environmental factors will cause the insulation to break down. Damaged insulation should be replaced to prevent fibreglass and other potentially damaging particulates from circulating through the air in your building.
Flexible duct replacement – mould and dust tend to build up in the bends and wrinkles of flexible ducting, and once damaged, it needs replacement.
Antimicrobial treatment – cushion head boxes and grilles can suffer from mould and mildew contamination. Antimicrobial treatments will protect internal insulation for up to 10 years.
Filtration Upgrades – all filters will eventually reach their load limit and need to be replaced. However, checking filter frames are in good working order and free of damage and rust will prevent contaminated air from bypassing the filters.
- Installation of access panels – in some cases, HVAC systems have been designed without easy access to areas that need regular inspection.
